As an very experienced independent social worker, Cathie regularly assesses children and adults with additional needs for SEND Tribunals, judicial review, Family Court, and the Court of Protection. Cathie has an MA in Autism, she is an Approved Mental Health Professional, and she has just completed her third year of psychotherapy training with Contact Point in Bristol.

Cathie is neurodivergent (Autistic with ADHD) which adds a different dimension to her professional creativity. She is passionate about social work with a focus on sound, ethical practice, where she seeks to ensure a person’s assessed needs are at the forefront of any decisions made. As part of a team of highly acclaimed experts, Cathie has recently co-written the draft social work practice guidance on Fabricated or Induced Illness on behalf of the British Association of Social Workers which will be published next year
