THE HIGHEST MEDITATION

We normally consider meditation as some kind of an activity of the mind. Where an individual uses a technique such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought or breath, to train and achieve a mentally and emotionally calm state.
When we do the meditation as mind activity, what are doing is manipulating the mind to quieten and focusing on it. By manipulating we can bring temporary relief because as long as there is a tremendous effort to still the mind. The mind will become still at it. But doesn’t bring about lasting peace. What we are truly seeking is the lasting peace, which is not something dependent on the condition of the mind or the body. Rather realising our true infinite nature.
